A work in progress for many years, the system sounds so good now that I’m afraid to change anything. But the HAP is somewhat dated so it’s probably time for a change, a streamer/server/DAC will start the upgrade process once again. The HAP is limited to WiFi streaming Spotify and Internet radio but has 700+ CD’s (ALAC) on its 1TB HDD. I like its convenience but would like additional streaming services and a better DAC. It sounds pretty good so I hope upgrading is the right move.

I’m on my second round of Bryston and VPI gear, I like the sound, I like the dependability. An easy choice. The 7T’s are the latest addition, really wonderful sounding loudspeakers that work well with the 4b3. They turned out to be a great choice. I hope I can do as well coming up with a new digital front end.

Few things in life are as pleasant as relaxing with some treasured music playing on a nice sounding stereo system. Life is good!

Great comments Jon, thanks! The Aerials can kick it out in a surprising and satisfying way, and pair really well with the 4b3 amp. Years of careful upgrades have given me a system that I really enjoy. Chilehed likes the 7T’s too, has a pair in his system. If you get a chance to hear them sometime, be prepared—there’s a Wow Factor! :-)

jrw1971, thanks for your reply and advice—it’s appreciated! The Fat Boy gimbal looks like my next upgrade. Vinyl Rules!

John, at least you’ve kept your sense of humor!!
I’m afraid to make a list of old gear, my wife could find it!  :-)

I’m fortunate to have retailers nearby where I was able to see and hear my gear and ended up with gratifying sound, even with the headphones. Some high-enders may say move the speakers out, add room treatments or subs but I’m happy with it as is…for now. You know how that is.
