Description

I wanted to move away from listening to my gear and tweaks and start listening to the music. I suspect I'm pretty well done at this point, though I would be interested in seeing how a SET amp would fit in. Shindo Lafon GM70 perhaps? A new dedicated listening room and home theater breaks ground next spring.

@mcslipp, I see you moving away Shindo system. I am very curious to learn what are you considering next after being spoiled by the gorgeous Shindo sound?

Cymbop,

Thanks so much. I love that everyone asks "who's the guy on the left?" Well just because he doesn't have a nameplate you should probably know FRANK SINATRA!

I love the musician mugshot theme for your artwork!

Hi Dan,

Many Thanks! I'm happy to have my baby back. Although the current location isn't perfect (a 33' wall of glass behind the listener) hopefully they'll have a purpose built room this time next year.

Hi lalitk,

Thanks for the kind words. Correct! The field coils get one Mr T. and the Pre/Amp the other. It's a bit overkill but the speakers came with an extra Mr. T so I figured what the heck. I keep the digital separated through the Hydra. I've never really played around with different power conditioners with the Shindo's but I do notice improvement through the Mr T's vs. direct into the outlet.

Congratulations on putting together an amazing system....I bet the sound is nothing short of sublime. I’ve noticed you’re using Mr. T and Hydra, is Mr. T dedicated to Shindo pre/amp? Is there an uptick in performance when Shindo’s are connected through Mr. T vs. brand X power conditioner.

Finally got my full system set back up after a long 2.5 years apart.

Having heard this system I will say it indeed sounds amazing though the Vosne-Romanee was really still breaking in when I heard it. Also a very fun HT system though I was 3 sheets to the wind by the time Guardians of the Galaxy started! Best part of the visit though, Master Msclipp sure can cook!

System edited: Lastest upgrades: Masseto to Vosne Romanee LS (medium gain in quality of sound) A23 IC's to Shindo Silver IC's (slight gain in quality of sound) Mac Mini to Aurender N100h (big gain in quality of sound + MASSIVE gain in ease of use)

Cymbop -

Beyond the couch there's really nothing soft in there.I wish I could add some acoustic treatment. But nothing seems to pass the wife test...

Great system. My local dealer has those 0/96s. I've heard them several times and really really like them.
Thanks for posting.

I agree with the comments posted above. Mcslipp listening to music must be a pure and involving pleasure with this exceptional system.

Mcslipp, I agree. Buy the speakers you love and build a house around them :)

Jetrexpro - Many Thanks. The photo is a bit deceiving as there about 3 feet behind the O/96's but I do wish I had more room to let them breath. It was the main reason why I was considering the AN-E's as they're meant to be corner loaded. Guess I just have to buy a new house...

Mcslipp, Wonderful system! I'm sure you will enjoy the music. How do the 0/96 sound tucked away in the corners? Thanks Jet

An elegant thing you've put together there, McSlipp. Well done.

Are there some soft things in the room to damp it a bit?
